A veteran photographer, Liu Zhenxiang received the Wu Sanlian Art Award for photography in 2010. He held his first exhibition when he was 20 years old and used to work in the media as a still photographer for movies. In 1987, Liu started photographing the performing arts and worked for nearly 30 years as the dedicated photographer of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. He has held one-man exhibitions and joint exhibitions both within Taiwan and abroad on many occasions, and his works have also had the honour of being featured in art gallery collections. He has also had collections of works published such as Taiwan in Shadow, Beginning to End: Liu Zhenxiang’s Story of Cloud Gate in Picture, A Mouth Full of Fish Bones and Family Photo Album: The Best Gift to Leave a Child, a Photography Lesson for Parents.
