A graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara in the U.S., Indra began his humble career at his family business studio in Indonesia—King Foto, which was founded by his father, Gunawan Leonardi. To further his passion for photography, Indra started his own company called Leonardi Portraiture in 1998. Since then, Indra has produced a myriad of prestigious works, such as his print entitled Madonna and Child, which received the 1997 Gold Medallion Award from ASP. He has also received various accolades, such as the Fellowship Degree from The American Society of Photographer and the Fellowship Degree from the British Institute of Professional Photographers. Indra has collaborated with many distinguished visual artists to create a new type of fine art that combines photography with painting. He has held numerous photography exhibitions in Indonesia and worldwide. His photographs have been auctioned at reputable international auction houses. A member of the International XXV Group of Professional Photographers, he believes that a photographer should possess an artistic sense to produce artistic images.
